Globe cruiser surf van and me started our path in 2007, when we bought this van with my father. His co-worker, the previous owner already did some work on it to make it a camper, but the job was poorly done and the van was able to stay in camping sites only. Anyway the outside of the van and the engine were in solid condition. We took some small trips in the camp sites, nothing like nomad style traveling with this version 1.0 version of the van. And it took a year of being an exchange student in Latvia to increase my lust for traveling to strat turning this 1990 Mercedes Benz MB100 in to the surf van that it is today. Ploče, The Dalmatian City Of Croatian Coast, Neretva River
As it has became a kind of a tradition of the Ypsilon Institute, we were off to the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia, to the city of Opuzen by the Delta of Neretva river.
It has been our base city and from there we drove to the nearby Kite-boarding surf spot, managed by Kaikala Kite-surf school. Other than kite-surfing, relaxing, enjoying the trully local food and meeting genuinely good hearted local people, there is not much to do here.
Blace, Dalmatian Coast Of Croatia, Neretva River
Five years ago nobody even knew about this breathtaking place, it was just a beautiful area to drive-by from Split to Dubrovnik. And we can only thank Ivica Odak, Domen Simčič and Soni Makarovič from Kaikala Kite-surf school for discovering a perfect kite-surfing playground…

After-Surf Beach Party By The Fire
I sure do miss after-surf evening picnics with fire and the barbecue on the cliffs of Portugal . . . It has now been just over 2 months since I’ve been separated from the Great Ocean. And it seems as if this is the most upper limit of the separation.
I want to surf and BBQ dinner on the beach and chill and relax by the ocean. I miss this kind of life here, in Central Europe.
Maybe moving to a place by the Ocean is not a bad one 😉

Day 2: Global Relaxation @ Czech Republic
The next morning, we woke up really late. We were all tired from the whole day drive yesterday and I was exhausted, as for the last month I was working on this Van, to be finished in time.
So this day we took it easy. We’ve had breakfast, coffee, smoked something strong and just enjoyed the beautiful nature of the South of Czech Republic.
Before we started to cook lunch we decided to put up an additional side-tent for the van. It took us some time, but we managed at the end.
After eating a really tasty grill lunch, my sister Ana made for all of us and and afternoon nap, we went to freshen up in the lakes near by.This was, I think the first and the last time we’ve put up this tent on this trip. We were changing places every few days, so it would be just a senseless waste of time.
The water was not the warmest, but in any case it is always a really pleasant, uniting feeling when being surrounded by it, trough the whole of your body. Sensational, every time.
Soon the sunny day of September started to paint orange, pink and purple shapes on the clouds on the sky, form the sun getting closer and closer to the point of nightfall.
Was an amazing day. We’ve got our exploring energy up and by the time we went to sleep, our curious selves were growing stronger and stronger, thinking about, what adventures sights await us in the the historic Jewish city of Mikulow . . .
