The Third day of the official waiting period was indeed a everlasting waiting day. First call at 7:45 am was postponed, first to 12:00 and than to 3 pm, which was also the last call of the day. Next call will be tomorrow at 7:45 am for a possible 8 am start of the Heat one.
Anyway it was a fun after surfing afternoon at the Supertubos surf spot. I only made a small surf session on the beach at Bar Da Praia in Baleal, as it was the only surf able beach in the area. Was not so nice as there were too many people, but after the second day without the wave, the waves today felt truly good.
The afternoon at Supertubos was sunny and warm, quite an unusual feeling for a mid-October day. There was a lot of people on the beach was electrifying of anticipation of the great swell incoming tomorrow . . . and the great surf festival at the beach, which was preparing to get on the way in the night.
Some people got a really great idea. They buried the ball for “sitting straight” in to the sand and used it as a jumping device to do some tricks. An amazing thing to see and even better one to try. 🙂
And the trophy for the Champion of the Rip Curl Pro Portugal 2012 is already on the spot, safely in the shadows, facing the Supertubos wave . . . which is waiting for the World’s Best Surfers to face it’s face.
So we all anticipate tomorrow morning, when probably all the surfers parking spaces will be occupied with the cars of the Pro Surfers.
