The road is long
With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where
Who knows when
But I’m strong
Strong enough to carry him
He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother
On a hot Saturday morning I picked up Živa in Ljubljana to spend a day together, exploring a valley in the north-east part of Slovenia, called Logarska Dolina. We took a local road trough the hills on the way there instead of the motorway. It’s much more relaxing to drive on those roads. And on the way there we passed one place called “Hudo”. We have this slang expression in our, Slovenian language “Čist Hudo” and we use it as “Top Shit” expression is used in English. That was kind of an morning introduction in to a really” Top Shit” day.
We drove on this scenic road trough Kamnik and Gornji Grad to reach Solčava. There is the entry to this Valley of Logarska Dolina. There is lots of natural and cultural landmarks to be found in this flat fields of green grass and trees, embraced by the mighty steep rock walls. Quite an enchanting place with a lot to offer to satisfy your soul.
Things to see in Logarska Dolina
- The Igla Needle
- Robanov kot
- The Železna Voda (Iron Water) Stream and Falls
- The second source of the Savinja river
- Logar’s Linden
- The Intermittent Spring at Igla
- The potočka zijalka cave
- The inka Waterfall
- Fairytale forest
You can find complete information about this destination on this link about Logarska Dolina.
Obviously there is too much to see in one day. So we just decided to head up into Logarska Dolina, with our destination to see Slap Rinka and use our senses and feelings to guide us to the other great things on the way trough the valley. There is an entrance fee to pay to enter the valley and it includes all parking fees and attraction visits. Seven Euros per car is quite a fair price for such beauty.
We were both hungry after the drive, so the first thing on our find list was some nice, local place to eat. We found it on the “Cross Roads” (si: Razpotje). We had nice fresh Postrv fish. The full launch meal was 9 Eur / person. A really fair price, for such a tasty treat.
After that great meal, we were both ready to take a midday nap. We drove up, to the end of the valley, where is the start of the walking path to reach the Rinka Waterfal. We found a perfect place to rest, relax, digest and reconnect by taking a nap in the shadow of a huge stone block of a dry river channel. The ground was quite flat from the floating water and the stones gave a coasy rock pillow. And while napping that song:
“Talking Blues” was playing on the iPhone.
Cold ground was my bed last night,
and the rock, was my pillow too.
The lyrics go quite good with the situation we’ve gotten our selves into. And we also remembered about the funny “Jamaican Tour Guide” video on YouTube about this Bob Marley‘s Pillow, where he wrote the song “Talking Blues”.
The Rinka Waterfall
We were soon ready to explore the area deeper, to the end, to reach the Rinka waterfall. The completely dry river channel was a much more tempting way to go to reach the waterfall. We hadn’t had any shoes on our feet the whole way and it was so much fun to jump from one rock boulder to another.
Soon this amazing cottage, Eagle’s nest appeared around the corner. It’s placed high in the rock above the ground, overlooking the magnificent Rinka waterfall. Was just a coupple of rock jumps and we could see this amazing beauty of nature.
The way to there was just hot enough to take a refreshing summer shower under the waterfall. Although the water falls to the small lake blow from 90 meters, it is possible to stand under it as the water is slowed down on it’s way to the ground by a huge block of lime stone under it.
The funny thing about this waterfall is, that there is not a lot of water flowing over it and it is so high, that the water drops become so small and light that the wind is actually moving the whole waterfall by 10 meters on each side.
We had coffee at the Eagles nest with an middle aged Dutch couple, who were camper traveling Slovenia. They were the most cool people we’ve met the whole trip. We’ve had fun exchanging some experience with camping traveling around. Really nice people.
On our pleasurable shoeless way down the “main path” we had a feeling we are from another planet as almost every by-passer looked at us that way. Nevertheless, walking barefoot is the most freeing experience for me. And the different terrain gives different kind of sensations which spread from the feet throughout the whole body. Love this feeling.
The Fairytale Forest
The whole way down, we were both truly excited about visiting this place, The Fairytale Forest. Just the name is so exciting that evokes the child in every soul. Although in my soul, that child never seems to sleep anyway. 😉
It’s quite a nice place with the wooden sculptural representations of the local and international fairy tales scenes. A really nice forest to be in. We were actually lucky, that we could get in as the forest was already closed. But we managed to get the manager to let us in to check it out. And it was actually a much better experience to be there just the two of us, without anybody to disturb the pure enchanting feeling of the fairytale forest.
The valley was getting darker and darker and after eating pancakes at the Fairytale Forest,
we drove to the entrance of the valley to catch the final bits of light and have a final relax under Logar’s Linden, before the ride home.
It was a truly nice day, one that definitely decided whats meant, or not to be. Živa was driving home, as I was completely exhausted from a busy working week. Although she is a “beginner driver” I can trust her ability to make the right decision for the road in front of us. So I was able to relax completely and enjoy the ride the whole way, for the ending of just another amazing day.
Years ago, when I was 15 years old and was in England to truly learn the language, I first came across Bob Marley songs. One song in particular captured my imagination on another level. The song is called “Redemption Songs” and the part of the lyrics that still motivates me most is:
” Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but our selves can free our minds”
I brought this up, as I fell that this statement at that time, put my life’s path to a new direction… and was in the background of every decision of finding the a way to true, unconditional freedom. That’s how I came across 2 great man. For me, the two greatest men in the world today. I am not giving them credit for my finding of freedom. That was my choice. But they really paved the path and put directional sings to the road to get there. Shinzen Young and Paul Jeffries are added to my role model list.
Up until now, there were only Bob Marley and Miriam Makebaon the list. And the people I look up to: Are the people who gave their heart, their soul and their everything to fulfill their passion of making our earth a place as it should be.
They’ve left us a part of them… for all the people to have forever. And is there really something more to life than that?
I don’t know… but those people all look really happy in one enchanting different way. And seems to me that in everyone and all of us, there is potential to achieve those kind of truly great things… it’s just a matter of getting to it.
And this seminar, for the whole weekend long, was about that. I am sharing the sneak peak preview of the Mindframe Persuasion Home Study Course.
I completley understand and am aware of the fact that some people will strongly disagree and be maybe even shocked, about the video you might see below… but you know, that’s a good thing. This is not for all people. I wish it could be for every people…. well maybe… not just at this time. As Bob Marley said:
“Those who have eyes to see, will see”
Bob Marley, Miriam Makeba, Paul Jeffries and Shinzen Young. I Thank You from my heart, for your effortless dedication in achieving your personal mission of showing the people the way to true freedom and unconditional happiness.
After surfing a really great surf session at Baleal beach today, we returned to the Surf House Tribu in Peniche Portugal. It was not the nicest waves today, but it was the nicest session with just friends in the line-up. Diego Miha and Klemen. And when we turned on the radio, this song of Doors – Tell All The People was playing. I have almost forgotten about this song and in the today’s moment it just lightend up all my senses and just took me away. Really great instrumental and vocal masterpiece, with a really great meaning.
After hearing this song, we’ve gotten into a deep debate with Miha, about the misuse and abuse of the word freedom and being free in the today’s time. He said, that capitalistic world is very smoothly ambiguous and when it comes down to it… it’s all about the subjective perception of the every ones self. He completed his statement with the example of one buying a nice cabriolet-car, which is advertised strongly as a symbol of freedom. But than when one person buys this car in the pursuit of “instant feeling” freedom. But if an irrational person, who might be male and might use this symbol of freedom to seduce the female, who is maybe seeking a free guy. But that one person feeling of freedom turns into slavery in reality as he has to pay 50% of his wage, Probably not even be able to be free in reality, that he can drive in his car of freedom, everywhere he would want… But every time he pay, for his income
I agree with him. It might be the root of the systematic structural problems of our today’s global human-consumption society . This marketing, specially in the industry of luxury cars, jewlery industry, luxury brands of clothes, the romance industry… and a lot more. Probably the whole thing is build around the illusion of the perception of each-ones person steady self. It truly is an illusion…
I was guided to this enlightenment by Shinzen Young’s The Science Of Enlightenment. Really mind opening stuff. Maybe even some major religions are putting the illusion of one’s constant steady self to the centre, instead of the enlightened state of the soul… which was the central meaning of all the world’s religions. It’s just a mind-boggling thought…. And Miha today shared one documentary which is about this topic. He said it’s 4 hours long. So this movie is going to a “must watch this” list for one cold, rainy January day.
This conversation really made me think deeply about what truly freedom means to me. I mean trule unconditional freedom. And how does one know, this is ones true freedom and not just a illusionary feeling of freedom, build in to one by the subliminal, unconscious and “implied meaning” advertising?
I feel it’s essential, if one decide to pursuit pure unconditional freedom, to first understand what that truly is in reality. How else is one suppose to chose ones path effectively if there is no true direction for one to take..
What does the word freedom mean to you?
How do you know you are feeling completely free from every moment to every moment?
Can’t you see the wonder at your feet
Your life’s complete
Follow me down
Tell all the people that you see
Follow me down
Tell all the people that you see
We’ll be free
Follow me down
Ever since I can remember, being in the water was the most amazing feeling for me.
And now surfing The Great Ocean, has made me discover the true meaning of being; Pure freedom of traveling The One Earth in my Camper van and gather knowledge, insights, teachings and findings of the great Universal Nature of connection with people on the Blue Planet and beyond.
And share this with the world.
