These last days of surfing in Peniche were not blessed with to many good waves, with some exceptions on some days. Only one day was surfable for the whole of the day. But even on the bad wave day, you are able to make progress.
Before yesterday, we’ve had 3 days of duck dive sessions, mostly as the onshore winds were making the waves look like a river and perhaps a raft boat would be more appropriate to put in the water than a surf-board 😉
And than yesterday, we arrive on he beach and see the flags turned to inland . . . offshore!!! We were extra fast to take all our surf-stuff and hurried to the beach. It was nice to see the lines of waves forming to break to the sandy shore of Baleal Beach.
It was truly nice to feel the power of on wave, breaking steep on the sands. I was happy for my decision to train duck dives and paddeling as I could really feel the power in my body to fight the waves to get to the line-up.
My duck dives improved dramatically and now I can truly make it deep . . . and avoid being washed back to shore helplessly by the breaking waves. And instead surf the power out of them and make pleasurable rides all the way trough all the fucking awesome day.
Before heading to dinner back to the Surf House Tribu we went to check out the surf Spot Batel, near to our house and gaze at the magnificent sunset. Was a truly perfect waving day in every possible way . . .
And tomorrow and ever after, is going to be the same.
