A Christmas Day In A Different Way
On a Christmas day of 2011 I spend surfing in Morocco. It was quite a good time to get away from the company work and em barque on a 20 day surfing adventure with Surf School Tribu.
The Christmas morning was just amazing. A”bad-meter-high” waves, 24 degree sunny weather a great surfing company of friends Ana and Diego and surfers all around. If we wouldn’t have brought the Santa Hat to the beach, nobody would even know it’s Christmas. They don’t have this holiday, obviously in Morocco, there’s no decorations whatsoever, and there is sand instead of snow.
So the Christmas spirit for that year, turned into a more free soul, surfing spirit.
It was just an amzing feeling to have a Christmas morning being bare-foot, in shorts, with surfboard under my arm, walking to the ocean with friends Ana and Diego.
Sure there were some times when I was missing the cold, dark, snowy and every-year-same-story Christmas in my Home, Waweless country of Slovenia.
There’s good things about that too . . .
But this is just so much better.
So my Christmas wish for that year was, to spend each and every Christmas in a warm place by the great Ocean.
