On the fourth day of our Czech Republic road trip on 9.9.2009, we left the camping Merkur near Mikulow and cruised to the near-by towns of Valtice and Lednice. We had no idea what to expect there, as all we knew about the place, was it has 3 stars on our road map. Three is the maximum on that map.
And when we got there we were almost shocked from all the beauty of that place. We first arrived at Lednice, where there is a castle, called Zamek Lednice. We’ve discovered that this whole area of Valitce and Lednice in The Czech Republic is under UNESCO historical heritage protection. And it’s just amazing sights . . .
On our exploration of the amazement of Valtice we’ve discovered that the King of Valitce was totally obsessed with monuments, shrines and statues. And under his rulership he had round 15 shrines built in the forests and grass-fields around the area. Wow!
They are like 3 – 5 kilometers apart in the forest. There is a nicely marked bike paths connecting them. We took the bikes of the Globe Cruiser and searched them up.
It’s truly a magical forest. With more and more breathtaking sights on every turn. Just speechless.
We’ve met some people at the last monument, who told us we should check out one castle, called Januv Hrad (eng: John’s Castle) not far away. They were just there and they really seem amazed by this place.
So we decided to go to this place, check it out and than make dinner in the forest. After a short walk, we’ve arrived to Januv Hrad in the time the day was approaching the end . . . the orange purple lighted beautiful ruin of a castle. It was just too much of beauty!
We were hanging out in this place for some time, than head back to the van before the light was completely gone.
We are moving to the center of the Czech Republic tomorrow, so we soon found a peaceful, lighted parking lot, to spend the night, of beautiful dreams from all the overdose of true beauty of Valtice and Lednice in the Czech Republic.
